Items will be published at the discretion of Erica Hammond, social editor, and are subject to editing. Items should be submitted at least two weeks in advance and will run for a minimum of two weeks; thereafter at the discretion of the editor. Social events The Messenger-Press encourages readers to submit photographs of social events for consideration, including wedding, engagement and birth announcements, church, volunteer and school events. Photos should include identification of people pictured in addition to a brief description of the event.

A self-addressed stamped envelope should accompany the material if it is to be returned. Photos sent via e-mail must be sent as jpeg attachments. Items will appear within four to six weeks of submission. Calendar and lifestyle items can be sent to the attention of Social Editor either by mail: P.O.
