Sen. Douglas Earns High praise was lavished on S. Senator Paul H. Douglas last week by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian who described him as "one of the impressive figures oi our era." I SEN. DOUGLAS Pulitzer Prize for history in 1932 and 1937 and a distinguished scholar, author, lecturer, and editorial writer. Nevins was principal speaker at a June 27 'tribute to Illinois' senior senator, currently campaigning for re-election in the November 8 general election against his GOP challenger, Samuel W. Witwer.
