23 Boston Evening Globe Tuesday, November 2s! 1972 Jauron, 3 so ores phm punch provide Yale's So it'll either be like a crap game or a lawn party. The Yales are sound physically, especially Jauron, who was ailing a year ago. As Cozza so often has said of Jauron: "Jauron is a back, has smashed all Yale records, and will have a healthy team with him this week. "The game certainly means much to us, along with it being against Harvard," Cozza said. "If Penn can beat Dartmouth and we win, then we can share in the Ivy title, along with winning the Big 3.

"So we feel that this is certainly going to be some game," he said. A I cjji ytv iw vi A I 1 oil ings ot fullback and Rudy Green at the other halfback. "They're all good ball players," said Cozza. "And I feel that if a sophomore has been In the lineup for a few weeks like these youngsters then they are really not sophomores any more. They have reached their potential.

They scare a man some. But I like these three backs." Cozza has a busy week ahead for him. He realizes that, if Harvard starts out with its whacky offense, which looks like a tilted pinball machine with everything exploding, then the day can be long. A year ago Harvard started well and all but tipped over the Yale Bowl. Last Saturday, though, against Brown, Harvard stuck pretty much to basic stuff.

"That's the way they operate," said Cozza. "They go from one extreme to the other." By Clif Keane Globe Staff FOUND; a college football coach who doesn't lit up all night praying that his sophomore players won't mess up things in an important game. College football players until this year wer usually put into three categories; as sophomores they were "very exciting, but apt to make bad mistakes under as juniors they were "coming along and next year they should be great." As seniors "Well, they've lost their incentive, don't want to get hurt and have even talked about quitting during the season." The freshmen haven't been categorized as yet. But Carmen Cozza of Yale will have six sophomores against Harvard at the Stadium this Saturday. That's enough to keep Cozza in the dressing room and let someone else run the game against Harvard, especially after the way Johnny beat Yale last year, 35-16.

The fact that these three young players are in a backfield with Dick Jauron, quite likely the best football player in New England doesn't hurt. A year ago Holy Cross won, 24-17 but took quite a pounding. "And last Saturday Connecticut walloped Rhode Island," said Doherty, "by a score of 49-21. They're certainly a great deal bigger physically than we are." It will be something like the old days at Holy Cross this week. Doherty intends to scrimmage his lads, and isn't that a rarity these days. j' Every restaurant and gas station in Swampscott is hanging out signs claiming the home of Dick Jauron today.
