One of Liz's greatest passions was gardening, where she could apply her knack for outdoor design and green thumb to turn the most barren of landscapes into a botanical wonderland with immaculately maintained shrubbery and floral artistry. She inherited these skills from her father and would often spend dawn to dusk creating the neighborhood showplace. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Earl Holtzclaw in 1980, her parents Jesse and Jean Grandstaff of Spokane, WA, her brother, Bruce Grandstaff, and grandson, Benjamin Sutton Williams II.

Ruby Hazel Worley, age 84, of Roswell, departed this life on April 13, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Emmett and Mazie Hazel on July 9, 1928 and married the love of her life, Lucas Worley, on December 22, 1947. As a young girl, Ruby grew up in the Grant Park area of Atlanta and attended Commercial High School and Georgia State University. Ruby then became a longtime employee of Lockheed-Martin Co. in Marietta, GA before retiring.

Her beautiful smile which she wore every day, and positive attitude shone through in everything she did. She was an avid bridge player, loved crossword puzzles, loved world-traveling, and along with her beloved husband led a very active and wonderful life together. Ruby and Luke belonged to the Y-Knots square dance and Carousel round dance groups. These friendships spanned four decades and she had just attended a reunionluncheon on March 2 with one of her groups. Ruby dedicated her life to her family with unconditional love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and many friends.

She enhanced all of our lives and made living life a dream. Ruby will be forever loved, missed, and admired by her family and friends. Mom, we thank you for being such a loving and giving mother. We will miss you and cherish you always. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Luke Worley; son, William Worley; grandsons, David Coleman and Scott Coleman.

Sam Guy and Allie Candler Guy of Druid Hills, granddaughter of Judge John S. Candler and Florrie George Candler of Druid Hills.

She was born into a family of love and privilege and spent the rest of her life sharing that love and her material blessings. She grew up in a small Atlanta and had many of the same friends for her entire life. While a true southern girl, she spoke her mind matter of factly, was without guile and prejudice and quietly but firmly stood up for her beliefs and positions. As a girl she loved girl scouting and Camp Juliet Lowe. She sang the camp songs she loved to all her children and grandchildren.

She received her 50 year scouting pin and served as a scout leader for her daughter's scout troops, then later for troops in the housing projects of Atlanta in the 60's and 70's. She was proud of her scouts and kept in touch as several of them completed college. She graduated from Druid Hills High School (1936), Gulf Park College and Agnes Scott College. She regaled her children and grandchildren with tales of her wonderful school days. She was queen of the first Atlanta Dogwood festival in 1936.

She married Forest James Funk in 1942 and loved and supported him in all of his endeavors for 67 years, raising his family and making possible his many accomplishments. She was well loved and returned that love by opening her home to students from all over the world: Sweden, Brazil, France, Turkey, Thailand, China, and Mexico as well as many local students who needed a temporary haven and home. She was a founding member of Northside United Methodist church and was a faithful attendee sitting always in the right side, 6th pew (row for Funk). She loved spending time at her home in Lakemont, in north Georgia and even into her 90's enjoyed swimming with children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was active on the board of Breakthrough House, Literacy Action and on the board of Young Harris College.

She died peacefully at home with family, on April 12th and was greeted in heaven by her family preceding her in death: her parents J. Sam and Allie Candler Guy, her brothers, John Candler and Sam Guy, her husband, Dr. F. James Funk Jr. and her son Jimmy (F.

James Funk III). She is survived by daughters: Allie Gamier Funk and Husband Louis Acker, Helen Funk McSwain and husband Laurin McSwain, and Florrie Margaret Funk and husband Tom Gonzalez, grandchildren: Forest James Acker, Peter Hills Acker, Erin Acker Sampson, Margaret McSwain Mann, Allie McSwain Byrd, Sallie McLean McSwain, Emma Jane Gonzalez and Thomas Candler Gonzalez and ten great-grand children. Born July 24, 1936 in Chicago, she passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Elkhorn, Wl. She was 76 years old. Geraldine had worked for Baxter for 30 years. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. She loved birds, flowers, gardening, trips to the casino and her dog Baby.

Her fondest memories were of her children and grandchildren at the trailer home in Kilby Lake Campground in Wisconsin and Nana and Papa's pontoon boat on Powers Lake. Most of his career was at Lockheed where he served as Group President, Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Group, member of the Lockheed Board of and President of the Lockheed Georgia Company. While rising through the ranks at he served in Operations Research, Advanced Design, Engineering, and Research and Development. He began his career as an Aerody-namicist at the Glen L.

Martin Co. A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering, he completed the Sloan Executive Management Nine Month Program at Stanford University and received an Honorary Doctorate of Science degree from Southern Polytechnic State University. Ormsby also served as Chairman of the Proxy Board of Directors, SierracinSylmar Corporation. During his career he has served as the Chairman of the NASA Aeronautics Advisory Committee, is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and member of the National Academy of Engineering.

He was inducted into the Georgia Tech College of Engineering Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the Georgia Tech Distinguished Alumnus Award. He also received the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal. Mr. Ormsby was passionate about promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and was active in the Marietta community serving as President, and President Emeritus of the Aviation Museum Discovery Center, and served on the Board of the Marietta Museum of History. Mr.

Ormsby was preceded in death by his wife, Margarett W. Ormsby, and is survived by two daughters, Marka Ormsby and Robin Daniel, grandson, Rick Ormsby and wife Andrea, granddaughter, Kimberly Daniel, and great grandson, Raylan Robert Ormsby, all of Marietta. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1953 while attending the University of Alabama. Following boot camp at Parris Island, SC, he joined 2nd Recon Company at Camp Lejeune, NC. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and designated a Naval Aviator in 1956. Following duty as a Flight Instructor at Pensacola he was assigned to Marine All Weather Fighter Squadron 314 in the US and Atsugi, Japan flying the F4D-1 Skyray. He transitioned to helicopters, flying UH-34s with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 263 at Marble Mountain, Republic of Vietnam.

In 1967 he was reassigned to the American Embassy, Ankara, Turkey as the Assistant Naval Attache and the Assistant Naval Attache for Air. In 1970 he transitioned to the CH-46 helicopter and joined Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 164 first as Operations Officer and then Executive Officer on Okinawa and aboard the USS New Orleans with the Special Landing Force for his second Vietnam tour. He joined Marine Air Control Group 28 at MCAS Cherry Point, NC in 1971 as Group Operations Officer and then as Commanding Officer, Marine Air Support Squadron 1. He transitioned to the AV8A Harrier and in June 1974 was assigned as Commanding Officer of Marine Attack Squadron 542. Colonel Price served as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans, Policies, and Operations until his retirement from active service in July, 1983.

Colonel Price is survived by his wife, Patricia Hickman Price of Cumming, GA; son Richard (Rocky) and wife Pat, and grandchildren Lauren and Richard all of Roswell, GA. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. She received her degree in pharmacy from Duquesne University. Rose Marie enjoyed a 35 year career as a pharmacist with Rich's. Her hobbies included flying high performance aircrafts, knitting and cooking. She was also a published landscape and wild life photographer. She had a very caring and helping spirit.
