IKEISER I CHEVROLET 525 ASK ABOUT OUR Dallas bums crippled Birds DALLAS (AP) Dallas running back Preston Pearson bolted five yards for a touchdown and dashed for more than 100 yards with Roger screen passes Sunday in the 27-17 National Football League victory over the crippled Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas now is 7-3 and only a game behind St. Louis in the torrid National Conference East race. Philadelphia is 2-8. Pearson, the only player on the Dallas squad who drafted by the team, raced five yards for a touchdown to break a 3-3 tie in the second period, and Dallas slowly pulled away from the Eagles.

Pearson caught four screen passes for 109 yards against a patchwork Eagle secondary which saw safeties Randy Logan and Bill Bradley and cornerback John Outlaw limp to the sidelines with injuries. Toni Fritsch kicked a 26-vard field goal to give Dallas a 3-0 first period lead, but the Horst Muhlmann tied it with a 23-yarder early in the second period. Dallas retaliated with a 66yard drive climaxed by touchdown run, but the excellent showing by the former Pittsburgh Steeler had only begun. Pearson glided 4.9 yards with a screen pass to set up one- yard touchdown run for a 17-3 halftime lead. Eagle Coach Mike McCormack yanked quarterback Roman Gabriel midway in the second half in favor of Mike 1 a who whipped the team on touchdown drives climaxed by James 13-yard run and Po one-yard dash.

Staubach, sticking mostly to the short passes because of a sore shoulder he suffered last week against New England, connected on 11 of 15 tosses for 115 yards but had two passes intercepted. Gabriel, who was wild before his departure, completed only 13 of 26 passes for 113 yards and was intercepted twice. Boryla hit eight of 16 passes for 124 yards "LAUREL" INSULATION CO.
