Maleo Times Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1960 PENINSULA SECTION Arts, Crafts Adult Class At Jefferson The Jefferson Adult evening 'school announces a new class entitled, "Holiday A and Crafts" to be held Mondays a 7 p.m., room 10, Westmoor Higl school. 'The class is taught by Mrs Barbara Linse, who.is,currently teaching at San Francisco State college, extension division. Mrs Linse recently published a book entitled. "Well-Seasoned Holiday Art" which is used by teachers in the elementary grades.

The class will meet for four consecutive. Mondays only, anc will stress a wide variety of arts and crafts that can be utilized in decorations for the 'holiday season ahead. Participants will learn many methods and techniques and will have an opportunity to Experiment with various medias such as, tempera paint, sequins, ilitter. corrugated paper, wire. Straws, scraps of cloth, etc.

This class is an experimental class featuring holi- day art activities, and if it is successful, it will be the forerunner of a class, to be offered later in the spring by the Adult Evening school. information may be obtained by telephoning. No fee will be charged for this class. DR. T.

Christmas Rush For Woodsiders WOODSIDE December 3 is the date set for the "Christmas Rush," the annual fund raising dance sponsored by the Parent- Teacher association of the Woodside High school. The" 1 event will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight in the multi-purpose room of the building.

Proceeds from the two previous dances provided funds for the student newspaper "The Woodside World" and the Year Book as Coastside's Photographer Sherry Ballard of Montara, one of the nation's outstanding color photographers, won the "Slide of the Year" trophy at the recent annual competition and banquet of the Peninsula Color club at the Villa hotel. Dr. Guilford H. Soules. APSA, distinguished Bay Area judge, selected the top slides of 1960 from a competition of the winning slides of the 12 previous months.

Honored guests were the judges who have served as monthly critics during the past year. Dr, Soules selected the following other winners in group: Edith Dudley, first place; Howard Stewart, second place; Marilyn Avila, third place; John Plessaer, fourth place; Edith Dudley, filth place.
