ngjr M. frTJ pat, off. Retired Railway Official Dies John James Napier, former Winnipeg terminal superintendent Can adian National Railways, died early today at his residence, Ste. 1, Con gress apts. He was 60 years of age.

He was superintendent at Dau phi i for five months before his retirement on July 25 of this year. Well known In local railway circles, he had lived in Winnipeg for 10 years. Mr. Napier was born In Can nington, entering the Grand Trunk railway service In 1900 as operating department worker. In 1905 he transferred to the Canadian Northern as locomotive engineer working on construction between Sudbury and Toronto.

Remaining ln the Central region until 1927 as engineer and master mechanic, Mr. Napier was moved to Brandon where he became superintendent. He was superintend ent at Melville in 1930. In 1931 he became superintendent of the Portage Brandon division and in 1937 was made superintendent of the Winnipeg terminals. Active Mason Mr.

Napier was active ln the Masonic order. He was a life member of Granite Lodge, A.F. and A.M., a member of the Scottish rite, Bethesay Rose Croix, Manitoba Consistory, and the Brandon Lodge of Perfection. He was also a mom ber of the Khartum temple and the Winnipeg Rotary club. Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mrs.

Delia Parr, Winnipeg, a son Elmer, Toronto, five brothers, Dan, Archie, and Wil liam of Capreol, North Bay: George, Hornepayne, and two sisters, Mrs. E. Woolecot, Toronto, and Mrs. G. Jewell, Lindsay.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Claire Bryce. Miss Mae Pirie, niece of the bridegroom, played the Wedding March. An arch of pink and white stream era and white bells was arranged for the ceremony. The bride wore a gown of pastel blue net over satin, featuring a white yoke and full length skirt.
