COUNTY Macomb County prosecutor said he will focus on serving victims of crime and pledged to put his money where his mouth is, if elected. Former Macomb Chief Circuit Judge Robert Chrzanowski said he would donate half of the prosecutor's annual $96,952 salary to victims' rights groups and other organizations. "I'm not doing this for the money," Chrzanowksi said. "I want to support groups like Turning Point and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. "My first duty will be to the victims of crime, and these groups do much to help those victims." Chrzanowski has been an assistant prosecutor in Macomb County, and an assistant city attorney and district court judge in Warren.

By Jeanne May COUNTYWIDE Prosecutor hopeful says he'll give half his pay A Republican candidate for COUNTYWIDE Schools accept funds from Coca-Cola, Pepsi A group of school districts in Oakland and Genesee counties has reached a deal with PepsiCo and Coca-Cola that would give the districts $2.2 million in exclusivity money to split among themselves. The districts also would receive more than half of what Pepsi and Coca-Cola make on beverage sales in their schools. Coke will give the districts 58 percent of what it makes while Pepsi will give 57 percent.

In return, the districts will agree to equal representation from both companies. That means if a school has two machines, one will have Coke products and the other Pepsi products. The dual deal, reached Tuesday, isn't uncommon, said Danelle Gittus, a spokeswoman for Oakland Schools, Oakland County's intermediate school district. She said the $2.2 million will be split among the districts based on their enrollment. Each district will decide how to spend its share.
