HILL TOP TIMES Page 4 Friday, October 22, 1982 News Briefs Tests completed on guidance system Tests on a new guidance system for a booster to get space shuttle payloads into higher orbits are complete. The guidance system, under development since 1977, will be used with a rocket booster in the shuttle's upper stage. NASA will use the booster to get payloads into higher earth orbit. Higher orbits reduce drag from the earth's gravitational pull and lessen chances of payloads falling back to earth. The 6585th Test Group at Holloman AFB, N.M.
