it It. lat M. Wsat Park 7 's, 1890. 103 KW Yobk, May IS. The stock market shows about the same amount of business from day to day, with the Interest centered la a1 few shares only, but tordsy there was a stronger tone than usual of late, and most of the active stacks are higher this wyening.

Oregon Transcontinental was still the'great feature of the day, and while the buying was as urgent as during the preceding few days there seemed to be plenty of the stock for sale, notwithstanding that the dally borrowing rate went up to par cent and sellers' three dsys options were made at a discount of per cent. Bales at seller 6 and seller 19 were recorded IH per cent below the regular price. The difficulties between the Cnion and the Northern Pacifies was felt la the market and made those shares the weak points in the active list, while Oregon Navigation declined materially on very small sales. The trading in the general Hat was mainly of a professions! store, but the buying by the Chicaro party in the grangers was a feat ure and Burlington and Omaha preferred were advanced sharply at one time, bnt the others took a secondary pi ace in the market Notwithstanding the last report of reduction in coal prices the coal stock became strong and Lackawanna and Dela ware and Hudson especially scored marked ad vances, while Beading and Jersey Central' were moved within narrow limits, though the last named displayed more strength than the general list. Chicago gas was again a feature and rose to above 63 becoming one of the leading active shares.

The re.ult of the sale of the a bash was announced late in the day and the stocks of that road became prominent immediately for etrenirui and auimatiou, the preferred soaring a material rise for the day. Among the special ties Pullman developed a weakness toward the close, and declined per cent, but in no other stock wss there feature or movement of im portance. The transactions in railroad bonds were some what larger to-day. and the tone, especially in the afternoon, when the greater part of the business wa done, waa decidedly stronger, snd at the close many lnes were materially hizher than at the last previous sales. fosperiJ feature marked the trading, bat the important advances Include Kansas City, Wyandotte and Northwestern firsts 2 to 9a1.
