Climaxing over a year and a half studying and planning, the college-lype registration program put into effect during the two weeks preceding the opening of school was cautiously deemed a success by its founder, Wade Askew, vice principal in charge of curriculum. Several advantages of the new program over the old process that have already become apparent were cited by Mr. Askew. There are a minimum of overloaded classes, significant ly (ewer than in years past, and the roll sheets for individual classes are the most accurate they have ever been. One of the main objectives, that of avoiding the approximately program changes occurring each year, seems lo have been met.

The new registration system has succeeded in reducing these changes hy 70-80 per cent. Ranked 22 before the trials began, Patterson swam a blistering 2:07.9 in (he prelims, qualifying for fourth in (he finals. In the finals he was clocked at 1.08.79 good enough for a six(h place.

Bill is hardly disappointed about his showing at the trials. '76 will definitely be my best chance to go to the Olympics. Four years of college training and experience should help me a lot," he said The first fifth quarter program sponsored by Arcadia High School was a rousing success, filling the Girls' Gym to overflowing.
