Churchill More than dollars have been distributed through its local associa tions to grower members by California Lima Bean Growers Association this week. This payment consisted of final settlement upon the crop Baby Lima Pool, and 50 cents per bag upon regular Limas. In commenting upon marketing con ditions and present prospects for the coming crop, manager R. E. Churchill says that the summer sales and shipments of limas haye been unusually heavy this year.

Over 70,000 bags of regular Limas were shipped out of California during June and It is estim ated that 60,000 bags will be shipped during July, with probabilities of still heavier shipment during August. Kecetit not weather has been draw ing heavily upon the moisture in the non-irrigated or dry land fields, and the long hard pull of further setting and the filling and maturing of the beans in the pods is still ahead. Government estimates and general concensus of opinion is that coming crop production of both regular and baby limas will be considerably less than last year. In view of these prospects and conditions. It is expected that growers and shippers will want to wait until new crop beans go into bags before deciding what are right prices.
