IHE Pilgrim Holiness Church of Pasadena was organized 9,. 1924. It had its beginning" of first pastor, the Rev.

Mrs. Laura' Lane. Her concern for the need of. a Church in this community led to a house to house visitation which was begun in March, 1924. This was followed by the starting of a Sunday School at the home of Mr.

This was located on a lot near the'corner of Colorado St. and Blvd. Thanksgiving Day they finished the construction of a tabernacle type building on the same location as a temporary place of worship. THE PRESENT location of the church was selected- and purchased by the local church in 1928.

Under the able ministry of tiie Rev. George B. Wise, plans for the present church Were made arid the building completed; providing a church sanctuary and several classrooms. This building was-dedicated June 10, 1934. The lot adjoining the church was purchased in 1951 and the existing building on it was enlarged and'remodeled to serve as the church parsonage.

THE NEED for more and better facilities led the church to build, a multiple purpose unit to be used for Sunday School-rooms, youth meetings and various other activities. This was built iri 1953 during the ministry pf Rev. Robert L. Simonds. The church purchased a lot in 1957 that meets the present property to give added room for growth and development.

They are in the process of raising the necessary funds for the new MEDITATION Reasonable Service By Tlic Rev. Joseph D. Filhnore "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to' God the things that are God's." Mark 12:17. Jesus too! (he question of the people's responsibility to the head of the civil government He used it as a spring board to the more important question of their responsibility to God.

Many times we become so engrossed in our own ideas of our responsibilities to individuals or organizations that we fail to consider our responsibility to God. We ask ourselves, "really what, does God- have a i of us?" Surely when we realize that our redemption was purchased by the aton-" ing work of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and yield our hearts' to Him, our responsibility is-not ended. The' Scripture in Romans would seem to bear out the thought that with the experiencing of the mercies of God to us, that wo should our bodies, as a living.sacrifice, 5bnse- crated to Him and indwelt by the Spirit of God, that our lives might be moulded by Him rather than by the pressures ot the world.
