Students Immunized Briefs More than half of Hillsdale County students participated in immunization dinics during February and March, according to county Health educator Barbara Jackman of the Branch- Hillsdale-St. Joseph District Health Department. Mrs. Jackman advises that 4,552 of the 8,723 students received 8,758 immunizations in the clinics 4,178 doses of oral polio vaccine, 2,995 injections of measles vaccine and 1,585 (toses of rubella vaccine. The clinics were held in each of the county school districts except for Waldron, which is tentatively scheduled to hold a clinic in the near Bonds Are Paid; Five Released Five persons lodged in the Hillsdale County jail over the weekend paid their court appearance braids and were released.

They are: Charles Paul Schondel, 30, of Toledo who was lodged by Michigan State Police of the Jonesville Post on a charge of driving under the influence of liquor. Andrews, 19, of Garrett, who were both lodged at the same time by Hillsdale City Police on a charge of having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

Bond for each was $100. Driver Suffers Facial Injury Stephen Alexander Rothlisberger, 17, of Market Road, Pittsford, was to have been transferred today from Thorn Hospital, Hudson, to Bixby Hospital, Adrian, for treatment of a possible fractured jaw. Deputies of the Hillsdale County Department report that Rothlisberger was traveling south on Waldron Road north of Beecher Road, early Saturday morning when he lost control of his vehicle, it went off the roadway and struck two trees. Deputies cited the driver for violation of the basic speed law, too fast for conditions. Investigate Smoke In Mobile Home The Hillsdale Fire Department was called this morning at 10:34 to the mobile home residence of Raymond Gratz at 15 W.

Lynwood Ave. Gratz saw smoke coming from under his sink, according to officials, who discovered that the electrical supply 'wire in the wall was shorted and overheated. The call was answered with two trucks and nine men. A side panel was removed for investigation and fire turned off the electrical supply until proper wiring can be installed. 'TTiere was no fire.

Mrs. Jackman says that one dose of measles and rubella vaccine provides permanent immunity; oral polio vaccine is administered in a three-dose series. Students who received either their first or second doses of oral polio vaccine need another dose of vaccine two months after the clinic, according to Mrs. Jackman. The students can receive that vaccine from their own physician or at the local health department clinic, which is held 10 a.m.

4 p.m. each Wednesday at the health department office, 71 E. St. Joseph Hillsdale. City Police Check Reports Hillsdale City Police are investigating two reports received over the weekend.

Philip Brown of 120 S. Manning told police that while his car was parked at the Hillside Lanes, someone had stolen a coil wire and that all wires from the distributor cap had been removed and disarranged. Value of the repair is listed at $15 to $20. Michael R. Lasich of 194 S.

West reported that someone had taken the front license plate from his auto while it was parked in his front yard. The license number is GJB-413. Truck Falls; Spills Gasoline The Hillsdale City Fire Department Investigation Crew of ax men and one truck was called Saturday at 3:01 to the Hillsdale County Road garage on Ferris Street. A gravel truck had fallen off a hoist and gasoline had spilled. The fire department was called to stand by and wash down the fuel.

There were no injuries, according to police. Michigan State Police of the Jonesville Post issued two tickets to Paul W. Housand, 17, of 896 Moscow Road, Jerome, after a mishap on Knapp Street in North Adams. Officers say that Housand was westbound on Main Street in the village and as he turned into Knapp Street, kidded on the ice and struck a parked car owned by Jim Shevrovich of 102 Knapp St. Housand then left the scene, according to officers.

He was cited for failure to report a property damage accident and for violation of the basic speed law, too fast for conditions. BPU Resolutions To Be Considered Members of the Hillsdale City Council meet this evening at 8 in Hillsdale City Hall and will consider resolutions from the Board of Public Utilities concerning costs of improvements and expansion at the municipal power plant. Other items listed on the agenda among city reports will be the proposal of the downtown shopping district as a special assessment area for any improvement plans; and a permit cost schedule for street right-of- way construction. There will also be the public hearing on the rezoning of the Hillsdale Community Health Center property from RI (single residence dwellings) to RM-I (multiple family dwellings.) The rezoning is necessary for the planned hospital expansion. A report on the Oak Grove Cemetery transfer to the city from the cemetery board will be heard as well as the monthly police report.
