J o c k e y Dave Morris drove Above Far 2 over 350 yards in 18 seconds to gain $4,400 of the total purse. The only thing above par about Above Par 2 is his name. Saturday's success was his eighth of the year in 12 starts and 14th in his career. Above Par lias started 23 races in his lifetime and finished in the money 22 limes, including a perfect 11-for-ll as a juvenile. His only failure was an eighth at Racon, New Mexico in September when he was shut off leaving the gate. He has started six times since his misfortune and shows five wins and a place. The L h r e e-year-old by Parr Passum out of Vantce Bar this year has won Derbys at four different tracks and will attempt to make it five on closing day at Alamitos when he runs in the Los Alamilos Championship.
