Jandit Holds Bother, Child tit Bay in Home A knife-wielding bandit held a North Hollywood housewife and her daughter at bay in their home early yesterday morning, then put a nylon Father, Husband of Missing Bride Plead for Her Return stocking over his head and left, police reported. -Mrs. Gertrude Goldberg of 11538 Kling St. told officers she and her daughter Ellen 8 were awakened by a bandit, who entered their bedroom about 2:20 a.m. Police said the stocky bandit demanded money, but when the victim said she didn't have any the robber ordered Mrs.

Goldberg and Ellen into the living room. The man turned down several items Mrs. Goldberg offered to him and instead took a stocking from the bedroom and fled with the nylon over his head. By JOEL GARCIA The father and husband of Mrs. Dixie Lee Arensen, the young bride of two months who mysteriously disappeared 12 days ago from Hillcrest Christian Church in Granada aills, pleaded yesterday for her safe return.

"We are appealing to whoever took her that she be returned immediately," said her father, Dr. Harry Schaefer and her 22-year-old husband, the Rev. Jonathan Arensen. Mrs. Arensen, a pretty i-foot, 5-inch brunette, was ast seen by her husband on Sunday, Aug.

25, when she left home at 7:30 a.m. to prepare a church bulletin at the church office, 17531 EJnaldi St. Father theorizes Her trip to the church that Sunday was not part of her routine, said Dr. Schaefer. "She normally jrepared the bulletin on Thursdays or Fridays," the African missionary told a re porter.

This led him to theorize at a press conference Tuesday that "Someone who knew her, knew of her or knew of the building" kidnaped his daughter. "It's just one of many possibilities," he explained. "But I don't think a stranger did it. There is too much traffic on Sunday mornings in front of the church- I'm sure they would have been noticed." Glasses la Office He said he counted some 300 cars early last Sunday passing the church. Neighbors residing across the beige-colored modern sanctuary told police they did not notice anything out of the ordinary the Sunday of Mrs.

Arensen's disappearance. The young bride's keys and ier glasses, without which she could not see well, were found in the office by her young husband who arrived at the church around 9:15 a.m. the morning of her disappearance. Her blue automobile was parked outside. Two unusual things were immediately noticed by police.

Her glasses were on the floor of the small, blue- carpeted office, and an electric typewriter with which she prepared the bulletin was still running. Significance of Drapes Dr. Schaefer theorized as to what happened that morning. He said the brown, floor to ceiling drapes on the west wall of the office were closed as his daughter, with her back to the hallway door, worked at the typewriter. "The carpeting, as you notice, is very soft.

It would have been very easy for someone to sneak in and point an object at her back," he suggested. No Evidence of Struggle The drapes open to a multi- paned picture window which faces Shoshone Ave. Police said there was no evidence of a struggle in the church secretary's office. But there is little furniture to be overturned there. The office is equipped with a heavy metal desk on which rests a telephone and vase ontaining blue and green plastic flowers.

Glasses on Moor Behind the desk is a typewriter table which rests against fihe north wall. A metal folding chair is used between desk and typewriter. "Her glasses found i on the floor (on the east end of (he office)," Dr. Schaefer pointed put. It could be, he theorized with a reporter, that she was First Burn-Care Unit in Valley Opens Up AFRICAN missionary, Dr.

Harry Schaefer, whose daughter has been missing now 12 days, describes office in which she was apparently working when she disappeared from Hillcrest Christian Church in Granada Hills. He appealed for her safe and immediate return.
