Enid 82 Slightly cooler temperatures are predicted for the northwest and northeast' areas with maximums of 100 degrees forecast for most sections of the state the prosecutor said Reynolds claimed he has suffi cient evidence to prove that Mc Natt forged 19 of 51 fraudulent warrants allegedly uncovered from an audit at his office to date rep resenting a loss to the county of $2249349 McNatt who had accident death toll to 311 compared witjj 288 at the same time last year Ollie Gene Gilliam 24 Tulsa was killed when his truck struck a concrete bridge abutment and went out of control on State High Aug GT') Department of Agriculture officials started all over today to determine which counties in the state should be approved for fed eral drouth assistance 1 orest Beall "Nash chairman of both the' state Agricultural Stabili zation committee and the state Drouth committee said new re quirements and regulations have been established for classification of counties as drouth disaster areas Even the 26 counties previous ly classified as disaster areas will have to comply Beall said Beall said the state Drouth com mittee had previously sent Secre tary of Agriculture Benson a sur vey of all 77 Released on Bail Long After Crime NEW YORK Aug 5 Gl) Paul A Pfeffer is free on bail af ter more than 11 months dn jail for a murder which another man has confessed Pfeffer was arrested Aug 23 a year ago for the bludgeon slaying of Navy Seaman Edward Bates whose battered body was found in a lonely section of Rockaway Beach in Queens Pfeffer now 22 had insisted that police forced him to con fess the crime At his trial his girl friend Helen Anderson 16 testified Pfeffer was with her until 4:30 am the night Bates died Last January Pfeffer was con victed of second degree murder and sent to prison for 20 years to life He had been held without bail since his arrest Two months ago John rancis Roche arrested for the rape slay ing of a schoolgirl confessed to four murders in Manhattan and also admitted the Bates killing court appointed at torneys immediately went to work He successfully passed a lie de tector test conviction recently was set aside by a judge who granted him a new trial which may be held in the fall Bail of $10000 was allowed last Monday Pfeffer lacked the money to pay a bail bond fee and the law banned his attorneys from posting bail Yesterday an anonymous bene
