White, corner of Fifth and Broadway. It is no more than doing justice to him and the public for us to state, that is far as his medicines have been known, they have given general satisfac tion. We are opposed to all quack humbugs, but good article deserves no such appellation. The sick will do well to give him a call. tor We call the attention of the publie to the card and advertisement in this paper and the Enquirer of this city, of White's Vegetable Elixirs, with assurance that their effects have proved all and, more than he claims for them, and we add, that if every family and every individual in Cincincinnati would but keep these articles by them, with the occasional aud free advice of the proprietor of these valuable remedies, there would be found a vast enving in expenses, and that we need not have a single new case of Consumption in the Queen City, from the end of one year to anotherand for the named in his card and advertisement, we have become satisfied that the best skill in the whole pharmacy of nature, cannot rival, if equal.

They have restored my sight and relieved me of the cramp in my lame leg, to which I have been subject for years, and I feel that their value can hardly be estimated too high: Your Elixir marked curing me of a violent tack of the Cholera, Morbus in fifteen minutes, induced me to yield ton trial of that in bottles marked which has been eminently successful in my own complicated cases, and so with many othera who I know have taken it. Finally, I believe, Sir, your Elixir deserves to rank, -not with the nostrums of the day, -but as the best preventative and cure of the age. ou are therefore at liberty to refer to me, and to use this communication in any way you please. Yours respectfully, JOHN BOLTON.

Cincinnati, April 29th, 1842. Col. J. WHITE, was afflicted with a very severe cough for twelve years previous 10 1831, and with which was very much ematiated, and as my friends supposed, in the consumption. I had the advice of the most eminent physicians at the south and several of the States.

I tried everything that seemed to afford hopes of relief, but in vain, until I found a deservedly celebrated vegetable compound, prepared and well known in this city and State, and which, after some weeks use, cured me. A few months ago by exposure and very severe colds, I was attacked again with a cough, and tintion which admonished mo that the apprehensions of my friends were too well founded. am now, however, able to say, that I have found a much lese quantity of your vegetable Elixir to be more effect u- al and to cure me in less time than any thing I have ever before used. I have been informed by many others who I know, have used your Elixir for various complaints that "it has given them grent relief." and who unanimously agree with me, that it is one of the best, indeed, the best and most agreeable and valuable compounds now used in any of the countries contributing to its value. Knowing that I will serve many afflicted with the complaints mentioned in your hand-bills, and in the newspapers, I make this communication which you are at liberty to use as you please Respectfully, ISRAEL HOOK.

The attention of the reader is respectfully called 10 the following certificates. However great achievements have heretofore been made by the use of this invaluable modiine, yet daily experience shows results still more able. The proprietors here avail themselves of the op portunity of saying it is a source of constant satisfaction that they are made the means of relieving such an amount of suffering.

Newark, N. Dee. 13, 1842. Mesara Sands: Gentlemen -Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for your treatment to me, a stranger, suffering under one of the most loathsome diseases that ture is capable of bearing. The disease with which I was afflicted commenced with inflammation of the eyes, in the I was treated and finally relieved, but the remedies were this year 1830, which caused almost total blindness.

For such as to cause the development of a scrofulous affection on my left arm near the elbow. Angers, pain and extended from the shoulder to the end of my for two years my sufferings were beyond description: I tried various remedies and consulted different physicians in New York, and amongst them the late Dr. Bushe, who told me the disease of the arm was caused by the large quantity of mercury taken to cure the Inflam mation of any eyes, My sufferings continued, the arm was enlarged, tumors formed in different places, and in a few months discharged, making ten running ulcers at one time, some above and some below the elbow, and the discharge was so offensive that no person could bear to be in the room where I was. I then applied to another distinguished physician, who told me amputation of the arm was the only thing that could save my life, as ft was impossible to cure so dreadful a disease; but as I was unwilling to consent to it he recommended me to use Swain's Panacea freely, which did without deriving but little benefit. For three years was unable to raise my hand to my head or comb my hair, and the scrofula now made its appearance on my head, destroying the bone in different places, causing tensive ulceratione, and I feared it might reach and destroy the brainthe head swelled very much, accompanied with violent pain: numerous external remedies were recommended, but they did no good.

About a year since was taken severely ill, with a swelling of the body from head to foot, so that I was entirely helpless; the Dr. advised me to go to the hospital, for he did not understand my case. -For the last few months I had been afflicted with a severe pain in both sides, at times so hard I could scarcely get my breath. A backing cough constantly annoyed me, and this, combined with my other maladies, rendered me truly miserable. Such, gentlemen, had been my situation for seven years of my life, when commenced the use of your Sarsaparilla, but as my case Was considered hopeless, the near prospect of a speedy dissolution seemed inevitable, I felt.

but little encouragement to The persuasion of friends induced me to try your medicine, which in a few days produced a great change in my system generally, by causing an appetite, relieving pains, and giving me strength; as success inspires confidence, was encouraged to persevere, my pains grew easier; my strength returned, food relinhed, the ulcers healed, new flesh formed, and 1 once more felt within me that I might get well. I have now used the about two months, and am like a different being. The arm that 1008 to be amputated 'has entirely healed, a thing that seemed impossible, I can scarcely belleve the evidence of my own eyes, but such is the fact; and tris now as aseful as at any period of my life, and my general health is better than has been for years past. Health: what magic in the word! how many thousands have sought it in foreign lands and sunny climes, and so't it in vain! Yet it came to me when I had given up to die, and as I feel the pulsations of health coursing through my veins, my whole heart and soul go forth in fervent gratitude to the Author of all our sure mercies, that he has been graciously pleased to bless the means made use of. Truly have you proved yourself the good Samaritan to the afflicted, for next to my Creator, my life is indebted to you (or rather) the use of your invaluable Sarsaparilla.

The value of such a medicine is countless beyond pricemoney cannot pay for it. I have been raised from death, may say, for my friends and myself thought it impossibie I could recover. And now, gentlemen, suffer me to add another proof, certified to by my friends and just acknowledgement of the virtues of your health-restoring Sarsaparilla. That the afflicted may also use it, and enjoy the benefits it alone can confer, is the heartfelt, fervent wish of their and your friend, MARTHA CONTIN. I know Martha Conlin, and believe what she states in this document to be perfectly true.

Early In June list I was attacked by glandular swellings the neck, which in a few days extended upwards to the cheek, and downwards to the chest, causing intense pain, preventing me from sleeping at night, and obliging me to cease the labors of my occupation. At the first appearance of the swelling, I applied lintment of various kinds, but none of them doing any good, -the swelling continuing to increase and extend, so that my neck became nearly an large as my body, I at length applied to an eminent physician of this town, who pronounced it a virulent case of scrofula. He lanced the swellings, and gave me a prescription, at the same time mentioning "'Bands' as a medicibe likely to prove beneficial, After making use of the preseription, and finding no benent therefrom, and after consulting with two other eminent phyiiciane, (one of Newark and the other of New York,) and receiving but little encouragement from either, I deterinined to make a trial of your.
