yesterday to the cordial invitation sent out by the International Congress on Tuberculosis to attend a private view of its exhibition at the National Museum building where tomorrow evening will be inaugurated this gathering of scientists from all parts of the world who are battling against consumption And a splendid exhibition it is too picturing vividly how this army peaceful conquest has for a decade been waging a fight to win back to health aid happiness a multitude of afflicted who must perish but for this relief While the Invitations sent out yesterday for this private view weri for the press those who came without cards were not turned back consequently many pairs of feet wandered through the unfinished corridors of the museum building and many interested persons saw for the first time what the States of this nation and the governments of Europe are doing in the Interests of science and right living The exhibition will be formally thrown open to the public tomorrow evening and will be continued during the three weeks of the congress At these exercises Gen George Sternberg chairman of the committee on local affairs of the congress will presided and brief addresses of welcome will be delivered by Commissioners Macfarland and West In behalf of the city Two Foreign Exhibits Late Had it not been for the scurrying of workmen about the building yesterday the exhibition might have had a finished and almost permanent appearance It was not unlike a medical museum filled with miscellaneous data charts medical literature treating principally the cause and effect of tuberculosis photographs depicting the conditions which invite this deadly lubercule bacilli and long rows of model hospital buildings and day camps those havens wherein thousands of sufferers find renewed hope of life A greater part of the Federal State and foreign exhibits have been Installed al though those og Great Britain and France are yet to be heard from The exhibits of these countries it is understood have arrived in New York and will be in place early this week The entire second floor has been re lervedfor the exhibits a space almost equaling the length of one city block Arranged along the front and two sides of the iullding are the States while the foreigners occupy the space Just Inside the States The big auditorium just to the rear of the space allotted to New York has a seating capacity of 2000 It was all In readiness yesterday aisles clear and 2000 chairs in place as If awaiting only an audience and a speaker Giving a bit of color to an otherwise somber picture were arranged along the walls and overhead thousands of flags of the great nations and yards of bunting Crusade in New York Slums In the center of the main group of State exhibits is that of New York admittedly one of the most striking of the congress because it tells how unceasing has been a fight to stay the advance of a disease which menaces a population as big in the
