JWENTY-TWO-THE DAILV MAIL, Hagerstown, Md. Fridoy, June 6, 1975 Oil price boosts coming this fall Driver dies in burning gas truck By JANET STAIHAR Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON (AP) While the Democratic-controlled Congress and the Ford administration continue their squabble over energy policies, several major oil-exporting countries gave renewed indications that oil price boosts are forthcoming. The Organization of Oil Exporting Countries meets in September and is expected to approve price increases then. The Ford administration says it expects hikes of 10 per cent to 15 per cent which would mean an extra 2 cects for a galhn of gasoline. Representatives of Iran and Saudi Arabia, the two largest oil producers among the OPEC members, claimed Thursday that inflation makes a price increase necessary.

They did not indicate how large an increase they thought was necessary, but Iranian officials have noted pointedly that world-wide inflation last year was around 35 per cent. Meanwhile, the House approved a measure that extends price controls on domestic oil until Dec. 1. The present law expires Aug. 31.

Ford has said he wants to end the controls over a two- year period as part of his program to conserve energy by raising prices and to stimulate additional development of energy resources. But the bill passed by the House would give either the House or Senate 15 days to negate any presidential action to end those controls. The present law allows such congressional action within five days after a presidential order lifting the controls. For Washington County ORDER OF PUBLICATION This is to give notice lhat on the 26lh day of May, 1975, a judgment by confession was filed in the Circuit Court for Washington County by -the Plaintiff against the Defendants, whose last known address was Route 10 (Old Forge Road) Hagerstown, Maryland. The declaration and judgment alleged in sub- stnacc that Ihe Defendants on the 28th day of May, 1974. by their promissory note under seal promised to apply to the Plaintiff at its banking house, on demand, for value received, the sum of Fifth Thousand Dollars (S50.000.00I without defalcation, and dirt authorize and empower any attorney of any court of record to appear for them and with or without declaration or statement to confess judgment against them for the above amount, with interest, and costs of suit and an attorney's fee of ten per-cent added for collection, and did further agree and direct that if said note or the judgment entered thereon was not paid in full on demand that the said added attorney's fee shall be collected on said amount so confessed: that said note was J. Rhodes, said the House bill was a "waste of time" and that it "has a clear veto signal." The measure was approved 230-151, less than the two-thirds needed to override a presidential veto. The administration hinted it may force a sudden end of domestic crude-oil price controls on Sept.

1 unless Congress agrees to phase them out gradually. Such action could cause a rapid rise in gasoline prices this winter, perhaps by 6 cents a gallon. Federal Energy Administrator Frank G. Zarb has been asking key congressmen to adopt the gradual phase-out to avoid a confrontation with the White House, an administration source said. The source said this attempted compromise was an indication that Ford would veto any extension of price controls unless the extension also provided for gradual decontrols.
