Officers of the Parent-Teacher As- movement is anything but new, many Dallas residents appear to have gone on the easy assumption that unionization was something that affected only the more industrialized States in the North and East Recently this apathy has been jarred by several strikes, beatings and kidnapings; and a lamented tar- and-feather job has placed Dallas in an undesired spot on the Nation's front pages. The mild mannered, church-going Mr. Green has helped to give many Dallas and Texas resi- dents a better understanding of the aims of the conservative American Federation of Labor, of which he is president.

Whether the more roughshod John Lewis, head of the Committee for Industrial have received as cordial a welcome here uncertain. At any rate, Mr. jreen did much to encourage the rades union movement here and to fain for its more conservative aims he sympathy of many not eligible join.
