Johannsen of Jacksonville and Mr Norman R. Sjoblom, son of Mr and Mrs O. S. Sjoblom of Fairmont, Minnesota.

Rita Ann is a graduate of Iowa Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing at Des Moines, and has been attending the University of Minnesota. Her fiance attended Mankato State College and the University of Minnesota. He is presently erating his own business in fitting and kitchen designing in Minneapolis, Minn. G. S.

Petersen's Hold Open House Dec. 23 Mr and Mrs J. G. Petersen of Audubon held open house Sunday afternoon, Dec. 2 at the home of their son, Mr and Mrs Merle Petersen in observance of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Over 150 friends and relatives called to offer best wishes and celebrate with them. The rooms were decorated nicely for the occasion and a lovely bouquet of red and white flowers flanked with candelabra centered the dining room table. The beautiful anniversary cake was baked by uth Rold. Mrs Glen of Ames and Mrs Jarwin Jensen of Sioux Falls, poured, assisted by Mrs Norman Christofferson and Mrs Clifford Jensen. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of white tissue taffeta, fashioned with a bateau neckline and the traditional long sleeves ending in points over the wrists. Re-embroidered chantilly lace and seed pearls accented the neckline and were repeated in an overlay on the skirt, fashioned with scissor pleats in front with sa back lines of the floor length skirt draping into a chapel train. A large rose, fashioned of the tissue taffeta, held the bride's waist length veil of double imported silk illusion- She carried a cascade bouquet of red Happiness roses.

The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Gloria Graeve as maid-of-honor, and Mis; Karen Engel, both of Council Bluffs, as They wore red satin dresses, styled simply, with modified bell shaped skirts. Lickteig, 32 Westphalia, and Bernice Rushenberg, 30, also of Westphalia, collided on county road in Westphalia Friday evening, Dec. 21. Both cars were going east at the time. There was an estimated $170 damage to the rear of the Lickteig car and no estimate made to front end damages on the other auto. There were no injuries.

Still time to enroll in series on leadership Those who have not already signed up for the "Future Leadership sponsored by the Shelby County Extension Service and Iowa State University still have time to enroll. The Series will be held at the Harian Federal Savings and Loan community room, January 11 and 18. starting at 10 a.m. each day. The objective of the course is to create a better understanding of the needs of our society and communities for increased leadership as well as better use of our present leadership.

Only a limited number can be accomodated. A small enrollment fee will be charged to cover costs of material used.
