TRIBUNE Tuesday, July 31, 1956 Semifinal Tourney Here American Legion Team Gets Through District Tourney At Anderson ANDERSON- Sam West's Jun ior American Legion team ad vanced to the semi-final round the state tournament here Mooda; by defeating Anderson Post 127 10-7, to capture the district tourna ment crown. THE SEMI-FINAL meet will be held at Kokomo on Saturday will Kokomo, Marion, South Bend am the winner from Fort Wayne bat tiing it out. Pairings will be made at a later date. Bob Limey got the mound victory but he needed help in the ninth from Don Howard who pitched to only one batter. Lin- Bey also had two hits for the winners.

Kokomo took a 2-0 lead in the third but Anderson rallied to even the score in the fourth. West's aggregation broke things wide open in the fifth wheVi it scored five times to move to a 7-2 margin. Anderson manufactured a single marker in the ninth, Tom Simmons was the bitting star for the Kokomo Club with three bingles in five trips.
