Painting curbs, scrubbing floors and woodwork, stacking tables and chairs, typing and doing other clerical jobs are only part of the endless list of work projects they have been asked to handle. The Youth Corps is a vital aid to Washington County and the program has reached those who can profit most, leading them in a new direction that of being able to accept new responsibilities and gaining self-respect.

Know-How Needed For See-Throughs NEW YORK See-throughs are great but what do you see through to? Pants are sweeping the country and city but who can wear them? It takes know-how a planning to wear these "now" looks. A sheer shift wears well four ways: covering a beach- bikini, lined with a bra-slip, lined with a body slocking, and layering a knit jumpsuit.

Other newsy see-lbroughs include shirl-lops of slretch or gauzy fabrics, vests a dresses of open crochet, and lace everywhere. You can wear these if you're slender, trim and not overly endowed But if your figure is full of faults, rule yourself oul. In any case, a see-through thai sees too much is laboo. Pants today range from casual straight-leg jeans and wide-stride jumpsuits to extensions of your a i dress-up dresses. Anyone who isn't overweight can wear hem.

If you're tiny, buy straight-leg panls and short of and jumpsuits. If you're 'all, wear pants hip-low and eggy; cut your long line with jelled tunic-tops. Girls Like Guys With Short Hair! NEW YORK Today's 'New Girl" likes a boy to be more intelligent than she, have a strong interest in politics, and possess a sense of humor. She turns thumbs down on boys with long hair, flowered pants or ruffled shirts, judging from the opinions of seven articulate girls who discuss what they like and don't like about boys in a special feature in a popular teen magazine. Here is a sample their views: ON THE IDEAL BOY -'Not too tall and not too short a sort of John Doc" smile a lot and who don't look loo too con venlional" "I don't like blonds lall and Ihin, but not very good-looking." ON APPEARANCE "It's usually the most unattractive boy who wears his hair the longesl" "Mouslaches, beards and sideburns are okay, bul I hate long Physical appearance has to be importanl al first because it's all you have to go on" "When I'm attracted ay a boy's personality, I always find him physically attractive" "Looks arc important in the beginning." ON HUMOR "I like a droll wil" "People who take themselves loo seriously are Ihc biggcsl bores!" ON POLITICS "Politics can be the basis of a fantastic relationship" I think polilical awareness is extremely important.

I have ut- ler conlempl for neutral people" "I think il would be fascinaling to go out with a polilical aclivisl jusl for Ihc experience." ON TELEPHONING A BOY "I would never hcsilale Any boy who wants a girl play i i passive role isn't much of a man." Contest Needs Mermaids!
