1996 A9 Murders Warrant still is in the works FROM PAGE A9 flew Friday to Washington, where the show is based, to be on hand to answer viewer calls after the broadcast. Two more police investigators, Scott Siemsen and Sean Morton, will be at the Salina Police Department tonight in case tips are called in. And Hill said the department has "made arrangements to go wherever we need to go rapidly if he (White) is located." Hill said all officers have to do is make a phone call, and within 60 to 90 minutes they'll be flown wherever they need to go. Hill wouldn't say who was making the plane available or where it would be located. As he made arrangements for the broadcast, Hill also continued to work with County Attorney Julie McKenna in seeking warrants charging White with the murders.

Hill said a warrant had not been issued by late Friday, but he had met with McKenna. Hill said he was optimistic that the "America's Most Wanted" broadcast would produce valuable tips about White. Swanda said 433 fugitives have been captured as a result of the show since it first aired in February 1988. Eleven of those fugitives were on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's "10 Most Wanted" list. In the most successful hunt, a fugitive was captured within 33 minutes of the broadcast.
