The White House said today in making the announcement that the orig- inal water colors were painted by the First this year while vacationing on Cape Cod. A spokesman said Mrs.

Kennedy did the paintings specially for the cards and that it was her own idea. One of the designs is entitled "The Journey of the Magi" and shows three wise men on black camels with gold trappings against a red background on their way to Bethlehem.
