He was head 7th grade coach at Crockett Junior High for four years, and then was athletic coordinatorhead coach at Austin Junior High before moving up to Irving High. A native of Snyder, Aldridge earned a BS in physical educationbiology from West Texas State University in 1968. He later received a Masters of Education from the University of North Texas in 1975.
