Town Talk, Alexandrla-PineviHe, Friday, July 2, 1982 Nielsens NBC Loses Ratings Race NEW YORK (UPI) NBC, which failed to place a prime time offering in the Top 10 for last week's ratings race, tumbled back into the basement it has occupied for most of the past season. CBS led the weekly numbers game with an overall rating of 14.1, and an audience share of 27 per cent ABC was second at 13.5 and 26, and NBC was six share points and nearly three rating points down from the top at 11.0 and 21. News magazines were big. ABC's "20-20" joined its CBS competitor, "60 Minutes," in the Top 10 winner's circle, and in the newscast category, the CBS "Evening News" was a solid winner at 11.4 and 26. ABC's "World News Tonight" was second at 9.8 and 22, and NBC's "Nightly News" was third at 9.3 and 21.

Tonight, of all nights, attention is directed to Jock. He's due home after an extended trip and Miss Ellie celebrates with a family barbeque. The guests get plastered and make passes where they shouldn't a fitting episode for New Year's Day. Then Miss Ellie gets a phone call and viewers finally get the dope about good or Jock. 8 p.m.

ABC Channels 2, 3. Movie. "The Oklahoma City Dolls (Made-for-TV 1981). (Repeat) Friendly drama stars Susan Blakely as a woman tired of working overtime at her company, compensating for the absent men who are out playing football. Demanding equal rights, Blakely organizes an all-girl football team under the guidance of luckless coach, Eddie Albert This women's lib gridiron story moves along nicely, but the big "must win" game at the end is too predictable and contrived.

9 p.m. CBS Channels 8, 10. "Dallas." (Repeat) Another wrinkle in J.R.'s personality shows up in this second of back-to-back episodes of the series tonight Larry Hag-man's J.R. runs off with the hour, creating sympathy as a grieving son unable to accept Daddy's death. With the Ewing family in shock at the ranch, J.R., Bobby and Ray Krebbs are in South America, searching a lake bottom for evidence of Jock's plane crash.
