(AP) The Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky have pro- posed a limited state "no-fault" auto insurance law in a move designed to prevent a possible federal no-fault plan for Ken- tucky insurance companies. "This is the first in keeping federal intervention out of Kentucky," said Albert Torslrick chairman of the organization's legislation com- mittee. After the plan was presented Tuesday, Frederick Watkins president of Aetna Insurance called for federal no-fault legislation and said he would be "keenly disappointed" if the Kentucky Legislature favors the independents' proposal "over a valid no-fault plan." No-fault insurance com- pensates policy holders for ac- cidents, irregardless of who was at fault. This is aimed. at avoiding long and expensive court proceedings.
