Television Programs October 24 Thru Oct. 30, 1964 Dean Martin In 'Rawhide' Friday Eve Dean Martin, making i television a a i debut playing a gunfightcr in "Canliss" on "Rawhide" next Friday, (7:30 8:30 I'M, EST) on the CBS Television Network, will be joined by a cast which includes Laura Devon, Ansara, a Novarro, Scott Marlowe and Theodore Bikel. Martin plays professional gunslinger Gurd Canliss, and Miss Devon co-stars as his wife, Augusta, who Iries to dissuade him from carrying out his last paid job before retiring the killing of a town's leading and most popular citizen. Michael Ansara portrays Don Miguel de Alonsn, the intended victim, who is regarded with near reverence by the townsfolk. Veteran film star Roman Novarro appears as Father Tasso, a priest, wilh Scott Marlowe as Tate, a young gunman who wants to kill Can- liss and gain a reputation thereby, and Theodore Biekl as a newspaperman who wants to write about the event.

In addition tn series regulars, other cast members are Jack Krushchcn, Teno Pollick Stewart Moss, Michael York! Kdmund Vargas and Rico Alaniz. "Discovery" will point out that the persecution of people believed to be witches, starting late in the Middle Ages for example, 20 men and women were hanged in Salem during a period of four months, and all on dtp word of a group of teen-age girls.
