July 20, 1984 Minneapolis Star and Tribune Museum dedication to include aircraft display The new Minnesota Air National Guard Museum will be dedicated in ceremonies beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday at Minneapolis-St. Paul Interna-tional Airport. At the ceremonies will be Russell Fridley, director of the Minnesota Historical Society; Joseph Micallef, society president; House Speaker Harry Sieben and Eva Miller, widow of the founder of the Minnesota Air National Guard. An open house and aircraft display Ewill be from 2 to 5 p.m.

It will include more than a dozen modern military aircraft, among them the newest U.S. Air Force fighters: the PF15 and F16, the F4 Phantom flown for air defense by the Minnesota Air at Duluth, the C130 Hercules cargo carrier and the world's largest airplane, the C5 Galaxy. The museum, in a former defense alert hangar at the Air Guard Base, will display artifacts, memorabilia and airplanes once flown by the Guard, the nation's first federally recognized National Guard aviation organization. Parking will be available at the Federal Building near the intersection of Hwys. 55 and 62.
