The unusual name PO-PO is thopught to be derived from Po- pocatepetl, a volcano near Mexico City. Although constructed over 60 years ago, it was in the 1930's that one of the owners dubbed this his private club Since then, local historians tell, PO-PO has been a dance hall tea room, cabinet shop, skating rink, machine shop, and even a chicken hatchery.

po-PO Restaurant became a Texas Tradition under the ownership of Luther and Marie Burgon. It is this tradition, as you remem- ber it, that we wish to continue. Our food is cooked as fresh as possible on a per order basis. It is not unusual for there to be a delay from the time your order is re- cieved until it is served. Please lean back, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere until your delicious food is served.
