(Times photo) Aggie Moms invite students to apply for scholarship Current upperclassmen students at Texas University, College Station, and their parents in the Kerrville area are invited to apply for a $500 scholarship for the 1995-96 school year, given by the Kerrville Area Texas Mothers Club. Applications are available now and must be submitted to the local Aggie Moms Club by March 31. The upperclassmen scholarship winner will be announced in April at Aggie Muster. To get an application, call Bonnie Arnold, president of the local Aggie Morns, at 895-2869, or write Aggie Moms, 118 Crestwood Drive, Kerrville, Texas 78028. Current Aggie upperclassmen are asked to return the application with a copy of their college transcript and letters of recommendation from the university and the community.

The Kerrville club also gives an annual scholarship to a new freshman at the College Station campus, chosen from applicants from the three Kerr County high schools. Aggie Moms here and across the state are a primary support network for financial aid, to the tune of more than $200,000 per year. Members are mothers of current and former students; spouses of former students; or former students themselves. Local Aggie Moms are invited to help the chapter in fundraising and participate in social events and "brag sessions" about their students. Meetings are held monthly in members' homes.

The Kerrville chapter is currently selling tickets for a drawing for a mohair jacket designed in maroon, white and gray with a maroon leather block design on the back and front. The jacked is one-of- a-kind, created by a Hill Country designer especially for the fundraiser. Tickets for the fundraiser are $1 each, or six for $5, and the winner's name will be drawn April 29 at Parents' Weekend at TAMU. The local club also is selling tickets at the same price for chances on a matching set of sterling silver earrings and Aggie heart charm. The jewelry was designed by Jcop Collins of Fredericksburg.

Individual Aggie heart pendants and earring sets are available in brass and silver from the club. All proceeds from these fundraisers will be added to the scholarship funds and given to new and current students by the club. For more information call Arnold at the above number.
