Born Nov. 7,1933, In Chicago, he died peacefully Tuesday, March 18,2008, with his family at his side. Mr. Maycan was a 40-year employee of Illinois Gear, a Job he loved. His greatest pleasure was spending time with family and watching his children and widgets play ball.

Donald was the beloved husband of Joan F. Maycan (nee Hebel) for 52 years; loving father of Donald (Karen) Maycan of Mount Prospect, Bev (Wes) Rozanskl of Elk Grove Village and Russ (Debbie) Maycan of Mount Prospect; cherished Papa to Krlsten (Mike) Favia, Katie Rozanskl, Mlchele Maycan and Erik Rozanskl; and dear brother of Gerald Maycan and Robert (Dlan) Maycan. He married Dolores "Dukle" Ortt Aug. 20,1955, and the two had been married for 52 happy years. The self-proclaimed "Last of the Great Providers," Gordy worked at Commonwealth Edison for 44 years to ensure the stability of his wife and children. A man of the community, Gordy spent years as an NCAA, IHSA and West Suburban basketball referee, as well as an umpire for IHSA and West Suburban baseball. A tall, imposing man, It has been said that when Gordy made a call, it faced little opposition from players, coaches or fans.

But this giant was no doubt a gentle one. Even into his last years, one would be hard- pressed to find a person who knew more about Illinois high school athletics than Gordy. As a young man, Gordy served his country proudly in the Korean War. As he matured into his adult years, he served it on a more local level as a member of the Addlson Rec Club and the Good Samaritan United Methodist Church. Between his magnetic personality and his wealth of experiences, it truly seemed that Gprdy knew everybody and everybody knew him.

He is survived by wife, Dolores; son, Scott McCarrell of Las Vegas; daughter, Kathy McCarrell of Austin, Texas; daughter and son- in-law, Sally and Sam Fatlgato of Austin; and daughter, Tamle McCarrell of Bloomingdale, grandchildren, Daniel, Brittany and Courtney Fatigato and Rebecca McCarrell; and numerous nieces and nephews. His gregarious and loving spirit lives on through his family. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake Addison, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.

Leo was a retired employee of the Seeburg Corporation after more than 30 years of service. This is also where he met the love of his life, Helen. Ivan A. Novak of Carol Stream Ivan A. Novak died suddenly March ,2008, at the age of 81. Born in Chicago, he spent most of his life living in DuPage County. He was In the Army Just after World War II and was a doctor of Optometry, although he never practiced.

Instead, he pursued his interests In all things, mechanical and electronic and worked as a staff designer In applied technology at Motorola in Schaumburg for 30 years. In 1983, he was awarded a patent, along with two other Motorola engineers, for "A method for fabricating aligned patterns on the opposed surfaces of a transparent substrate." His interests and hobbies were many, and included bowling, making radio-controlled model airplanes, ham radio, lapidary, and most recently, the NASA space program, Macintosh computers, and digital photography. He shared his interests with his niece, Rebecca Lash of Woods Hole, Mass. He is also survived by a sister, Natalie Novak Lash of Woodstock, Vt. Beverly DICaro Schmtt formerly of Elgin The funeral Mass for Beverly DICaro Schmlt, 72, of Huntley, will be celebrated at 10a.m.

Beverly was a graduate of the University of Illinois Cook County School of Nursing, and held an advanced degree from St. Francis College In Joliet. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elgin. Survivors Include her children, John (Susan) of Virginia Beach, Paul (Karen) of Oakwood Hills, Lawrence (Kelly) of Chicago and Gretchen Schmlt of Chicago; her grandchildren, Kaltlyn, Matthew and Andrew of Virginia Beach, Callie and Ryan of Oakwood Hills, and Kara and Olivia of Chicago; her brothers, James (Chickie) DICaro and Joseph (Laura) DICaro; and her sister, Gene Marie (Lou) Schaeffer.

Juanita Sunderlage "Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Mabel Juanita Sunderlage, An Elect Lady, 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 20,2008, in Sandy, Utah." Her family members were able to express their love to her the day she returned to her' Heavenly Father.

Juanita was born Aug. 16,1919, In Vienna, a community in the southern part of the state. She had five brothers and one sister. The Jones family was a loving family which was.generous with their limited means. When Juanita was in her youth, her family moved to Elgin, III.

She attended Elgin High School, where she actively participated in sports. Shortly after high school, Juanita met Wilbert Sunderlage, a handsome and athletic young baseball player who operated his own egg business. Wilbert was better known as "Webbs." They were married in 1939. Juanita and Webbs were married for 54 years, before he passed away in September of 1994. They loved to travel together and especially enjoyed California, Minnesota and Oregon.

Their love Intensified as the years progressed. Juanita always had a nice way with people. She was particularly sensitive to those with needs. She was very empathetic, and that quality never left her throughout her life. Her four grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren adored her, and she delighted in them.

Juanita worked several years during her life. Her employment included working with tabulating equipment In the early days of data processing, and in her later years worked for retail grocers. She had been a long-standing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her callings were extensive with most of those in the Relief Society, the Women's Auxiliary. In 1995, Juanita moved to St.

George, Utah, to be closer to her son and his family. She continued a very active life style in this vibrant community. Her calendar was filled with church meetings, days at the temple, college concerts and football games. She especially enjoyed a close circle of friends In the Meadow Creek Senior Community. Her lifestyle was altered abruptly, when she suffered a serious stroke in 2002.

After a period of rehabilitation, she moved to Salt Lake City, where she has resided the past five plus years at the Wentworth at Willow Creek, an assisted Hying facility. Juanita was a profile in faith. She remained steadfast during her many years and provided a wonderful example to her family. Juanita is survived by her only child, a son, Jack (Jean) Sunderlage of Sandy, Utah; four grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 25, at the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S.

State Elgin, with burial to follow in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 11 until the time of services at the funeral home. For Information, 847-253-0224. Alfred J. "Buddy" Tinoly a resident of North Barrlngton A memorial service celebrating the life of Alfred J. "Buddy" Tinoly, 68, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Metropolis Ballroom, Arlington Heights.

Bom Dec. 29,1939, In Chicago, to Alfred Tinoly and Theresa Tinoly (nee Can), he died peacefully and surrounded by love on Friday. March 14,2008, suddenly, after a severe illness and a valiant struggle. He was raised on the Near West Side and graduated from Wells High School. He went on to receive his bachelor of science degree from DePaul University, where he met his lifelong sweetheart and best friend, Judy (nee Sullivan).

They were married on June 10, 1961. They moved to the Northwest suburbs and together raised three beautiful daughters, Linda (James Minnlce) of Chicago, Lisa (Paul) Dunaway of St. Charles and Laura (David) Proctor of Inverness. His life was further blessed with four loving grandchildren, Erin Lee Dunaway (16), Andrew James Dunaway (12), Emma Grace Proctor (5) and John Tinoly "Jett" Proctor (2). They were the light of his life, fondly calling him "Grandpa," "Gampie" and "Papa." Survivors also include his two dear sisters, Caroline (Francis A.Hdrvey, Jr.) of Swarthmore, Pa.

and Eileen Tinoly of Hoffman Estates; his favorite nephew, Francis A. Harvey, III (wife, Pier Seymour, and their son, Tate) of Redondo Beach, and his beloved niece, Mary Elizabeth Harvey of New York, N.Y. He also had many special cousins, friends and associates. Al had a rare combination of book and street smarts. In addition to the above accomplishments, he had a distinguished professional career as a human resources professional at several companies, including Experian, Direct Marketing Technology, LPC, Homequlty, Underwriters Laboratories and CNA Insurance.

He held an MBA from Roosevelt University, where he actively served many years as an Executive Committee member on their Board of Community Advisors. He was past president and longtime board member of the Northwest Suburban Association of Commerce and Industry (NSACI). He was also an enthusiastic and humble mentor to many. Throughout his life, Al had a constant love for people, poker and the ponies, enjoying many happy times at racetracks and casinos around the country. He was generous and kind and contributed to many favorite charities.

Al was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Tinoly; his mother, Theresa Tinoly; his brother-in-law, Jerome Sullivan; and his cherished mother-in-law, Helen Sullivan (nee Barabas). Barbara H. Wade of St. Charles A funeral service for Barbara H. Wade, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Congregational United Church of Christ, 40W451 Fox Mill Blvd.

Bom July 30,1928, In Oak Park, the daughter of Charles A. and Gladys (nee Petersen) Harless, she died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Delnor-Community Hospital In Geneva. She attended Hawthorn School and Oak Park High School.

At the age of 16, the 1 family moved to Greenwich, where she completed her high school years at Greenwich High School. In 1952, Barbara graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College. As a college student, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta National sorority and a charter member of the Fox Valley Alumna Club of Alpha Gamma Delta. She and Alfred "Al" Wade were united In marriage on Nov. 22,1952, In Greenwich.

Her first job as a teacher was In the Greenwich School District. They moved to St. Charles In 1965. After raising six sons, Barbara was asked to apply to teach first grade at Wild Rose School in St. Charles, where she taught for 21 years.

After retiring, Barbara began taking art classes, fulfilling her love of oil painting. She was delighted to be chosen to display her works of art at the St. Charles Public Library. She took third place in the Brush and Chisel Art Show at the Darflinger Studio and in January 2004, she was Artist of the Month at the Congregational United Church of Christ, St. Charles.

She was a docent for the 1872 Pioneer Sholes School and served on the board. She was a member of the Care Core of the Congregational United Church of Christ, St. Charles, the Pottawatomle Garden Club, the Arts Society and Retired Teachers of Aurora. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Alfred her loving sons, James (Susan) Wade of St. Charles, David (Diane) Wade of New Rochelle, N.Y., Alfred (Lori) Wade of Elgin, Thomas Wade of St.

Charles, Timothy (Esther) Wade of Scotia, N.Y. and William (Lisa) Wade of Batavia; her dear grandchildren, Andrew, Erin, Amanda, Hanah, Emily, Alfred, Kenneth, Sarah, Brian, Sean, Scott, Marissa, Victoria, Cassandra, Rocco, Charlotte, Jessica and Zachary; her precious great granddaughter, Ariana; and her brother, Theodore (Bonnie) Harless of Homosassa, Fla. He then moved to Chicago, where he graduated with a master's degree from Loyola. Bill began his professional career with Allstate, then he formed Walden Investment, a real estate development firm. He went on to create Bristol Chicago, where he developed many large apartment complexes. Bill's greatest love in life were his family, friends and faith, followed closely by skiing in Aspen, horse racing and "The General." He was the beloved husband of Sharon E.
