One of several notes found in the bouse read: "Please notify my brother, Ted, in Brooklyn." They were reported in fair condition today at the Westport Sanitarium.

The Steinbergs had been sought since yesterday morning. The father, near hysteria, had rushed with his wife from a hospital in nearby Norwalk with the body of their only child, Heide. Later, police said, he threatened to kill a medical examiner who asked to view the dead girl. Police went to the Steinberg home at the medical examiner's request, got no answer and theorized that the couple had fled with the body in the family car. State police broadcast an alarm.

Last night, however, the car was found in Westport's business district and a neighbor reported she bad seen a dim light in the Steinberg home. Police forced an entry and found the couple lying on the floor of a bedroom. The father was on one side of a bed in which Heide's body lay and the mother was on the other. Heide was admitted to the Norwalk hospital about 1:45 a.m., yesterday, suffering from an acute asthmatic condition. She died four aours later with her parents at her bedside.

He disclosed that he is now leaning toward Eisenhower, mainly because he believes it is "very important" for the Republicans to win the election by a big enough majority to assure control of both houses of Congress. The GOP needs to gain only three Senate seats next November to hold a majority.

But of the 34 seats at stake this year, Republicans already hold most of those outside the Democratic south.
