Sauvage says that If ho does give the carnival he will not ask any organization to take hold of it, but will conduct It himself. The company will be In East St. Louis the week beginning September 7. Mvrtle, the 2 year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dovirce drank some gasoline this morning at the family home on Easton street between Fifth and Sixth streets. Huntley Palmer's The Madison County Board of Review will hold three sessions In Alton next week, beginning Tuesday and closing-Thursday evening. The time for tiling objections to the assessments reported by the assessors in the various townships passed last Tuesday, and no more complaints will be received. The Board of Review has many complaints which will be considered and will act Independently in revising other assessments tnat may be considered too low.

Every property-owner whose assessment is unsatisfactory to himself and who has filed a complaint may have his case considered next week by the Board of Review in the City Council chamber.
