BOISE (AP) A letter to the editor brought together two Boise housewives, who had not met previously, and they rcpoited apparent success today in Iheir attempt to nssist a young mother in regaining possession of her son. She left her 4-ycar-old son by a prior marriage with her parents Wurzburg. But the 21-year-old Chappcll had been unable to obtain enough work so they could save the $700 needed. As the visa obtained for the son nearcd its expiration date, Mrs. Chappell reported her problem to authorities, who made 'it public. Mrs.

W. L. Venis wrote a letter to Ihs editor of the Idaho Daily Statesman offering to help in any raising campaign. Mrs. Conrad King contacted Mrs.

Venis by telephone and they agreed to head a campaign for funds. Mrs. King said she was prompted in contacting Mrs. Venis by the thought that "America is supposed Benson of Owyhee Heads Council BOISE (AP) State Rep. Alvin B.

Why are death rates from heart attacks among middle-aged men up to times as high for heavy cigarette smokers as for non-smok- The American Heart Association's newsletter says a possible explanation may exist in a study by a Philadelphia research team. The team found that two cigarettes smoked within 10 minutes raised the level of some fats in the blood--and the effect lingered for at least 40 minutes. Perhaps nicotine from smoking stimulates the nervous system and the adrenal glands to release a form of adrenalin that frees fats from storage areas in the body, researchers suggest. ft could explain why smokers have higher levels of cholestera in their blood. Cholesterol is blood fat which is suspected contributing to heart disease by clogging and narrowing 'arteries.
