Machines, Home Equipment Draw Crowds at Fair 'BLACKFOOT Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot after opening Children's Day on Tuesday settled down Wednesday to adult interests. Attendance was running about the same as last year, when more than 100,000 persons attended. Wednesday morning saw. the crowds intent on more than million worth of farm machinery and household equipment in the commercial building. Shows of new fabrics, housing materials and adjuncts, sewing machines, furnaces, and musical instruments are out.

Bingham Tops Ag Booths Among the three competitive booths, Bingham County, traditionally, in charge of the Farm Bureau, won all the major rosettes and the cup, with first places in artistic arrangement, va- risly', and quality as revealed by the number ol individual blue ribbons awarded. Bonneville Pomona Grange was a close second in ar- rangcmer.t; and Bannock Portneuf Grange was second in total blue ribbon count. Among educational boolhs the Forest Service was first with its replica of a log cabin to house pic- tines of "Mutliple Uses of National and the usual reminders by Smokey the Bear to help avoid fires. Second was the Soil Conservation booth, showing actual soil layers on slabs with roots penetrating to about tho top of tho lower subsoil. Besides the slabs, printed material explained use of fertilizer, water, and the like.
