Spokesman for the ISU chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity said local businessmen were "very receptive" to contributing to the scholarship fund-raising effort, and a spokesman termed the drive a success. The fraternity and the scholarship recipients "really appreciate the support of the business people, the spokesman added. This was the first year that four scholarships have presented, with three having been awarded during past awards nights.

In additiQn, this was the first year that a scholarship was given a student already attending ISU. Recognition awards were presented to the following: The Pocatello Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for its continuing service in the community. The Black Women's Civic Group for its presentation of the first black debutante ball in Focatello and for its food drive to help the needy at Thanksgiving. Robbie Robertson, Pocatello, for being the first black journeyman pipefitter in Idaho. The Bonneville School Parent-Teachers Council for its task force effort to improve education at the school.

Pocatello Mayor Thomas "Les" Puree for being the first black elected official and the first black mayor in the state; Ted Kendricks of the Hunter- Saucerman Construction Idaho Falls, ibr the company's outstanding contribution to this year's Kappa Alpha Psi Awards Night. The Idaho Bank and Trust Co. for its continuing outstanding contributions to the awards night. Puree and attorney Robert Harris, Richmond. Calif, western province polemarch for the Kapp Alpha Psi fraternity, were the keynote speakers for the awards night.

Bryant Lee was the master of ceremonies. Auxiliary Invitation Given Past Presidents Past Presidents of the Women's Auxiliary to Union Pacific Old Timers were invited to the auxiliary's annual mother-daughter party during a luncheon at Royono's Buffet. Mrs. Kay Cox, president, reported that the inother- daughter party will be Monday in the Elks' Club, upstairs dining room.
