ANTHONY HOSPITAL Student Practical Nurses Get Caps in Special Rites The German-speaking club, Edelweiss Verein, will have second annual Saturday at 8 p.m.

in the Moose Lodge, 348 W. Clark. With a Maypole dance to open tiie Maifest activities, the Edelweiss Verein has put together a most entertaining and inexpensive evening in the typically fun fashion of past functions. Bill Liday and his five-piece band, the Creative Workbench, will play for the festivities. Instead of a full-course meal, the club will provide pretzels, punch and coffee included in the Entrance lee.

German sausage, rolls and cake ako mU be available. A donated door prize willbifgiven away. With the cost lowered, it is anticipated that more interested people will attend and enjoy the German festivities. Included in the activities will be bigger and better prizes. Highlighting the evening will be the presentation of the annual Edelweiss Verein scholarship to a deserving 1SU student of German.

The committees working on the Maifest are: Food and prizes, Mrs.Irmgard Pryor and Mrs. Marlies Stones; program chairman, Mrs. Sylvia Kirk; Mavpole dance and decorations, Dawn Chrtewisser and Mary Anne Ward. Master of ceremonies will be Dr. Richard D.

Stones, president of the club. The entrance charge will be $2 for student members and 53 for adult members. Nonmembers will be charged $3 (students) and $4 (adults), respectively. An explanation was given by Janet Howe, registered nurse who instructs the practical nurse training offered by the Idaho State University School of Vocational-Technical Education in cooperation with St. Anthony Community Hospital.

To receive a cap, a student must complete four months of training. The capping ceremony for the present class of eleven student practical nurses was held at St. John's Newman Center. These students will be graduated in December and will take the state board examinations in April to become licensed. Mrs.

Howe presented the students with their caps. They included Mavis Malphrus Anestos, Roberta E. Armstrong, Dorothy Barnett, Mary 0. Fowler, LaRue R. Hurst, Katherine Marie Jorgensen, Lois Roger Kempton, Barbara L.

Page, Roxane Ricken, Christine Sanchez and Corrine T. Stubson. Guest speakers at the capping were Mrs. Pat Felton, registered nurse, and Len Brenchiey, coordinator of student services for the Vo-Tech School. The invocation was given by Rev.

Charles Fowler of the First Southern Baptist Church and the benediction by Sister Peggy Byrnes, pastoral care, St. Anthony Community Hospital. Introductions were by Nadine Stroud, licensed practical nurse and president of the LPN Association. Music was furnished by Sandra Orton. Ushers were Sandra Freeman, Joanne Holte, Doris Jeanroy and Leona Roeckner, graduate practical nurses.

A reception for the students followed the capping with families and guests in attendance. The reception was catered by the ISU Vo-Tech food services program.
