Mrs. Hopkins represents Wood River Woman's Club to the Chamber of Commerce.

EAST ALTON The race for places on the ballot in the school board election this year is off to an early start, with four persons applying for petitions already. V. J. Brazier, present board secretary, and Emory Walkington, member of the board, will run for re-election to three year terms on the board. The third member of the board whose term expires this year is Thad Fife.

Others circulating petitions are Richard Welch, president of the Parent Teacher Association, and Mrs. Edward D. Groshong. Voters will elect three members for regular three year terms, and one for a one year term, to serve the remainder of the unexpired term of Wilburn Belangee, who died recently. He walked info the tavern and identified the youths who were in the car, and had the tavern owner call the police.

Fairmount City police arrested the two youths and a third who was in the car, a hitchhiker from Tennessee, and state police were notified of the incident. The mayor said he found out later Sunday night the car had been stolen in Granite City, and the driver's licenses of both youths had been revoked some time ago. They were placed under $2,000 bond, the mayor said, and he was scheduled to appear at their hearing this afternoon. Asks Library Service Centers in Little Egypt CHICAGO Illinois Stat Jbrary Commission recommend he establishment of service cen ers in southern Illinois.
