STATE New Topographic Map Of Mountain Area Goes On Sale Copies of the new topographic map of the San Gorgonio Mountain Quadrangle, covering the mountain territory just east of Redlands, have now been placed on public sale by the U.S. Geological Survey. The first map of this area to be made by the U.S.G.S. since 1899, the new issue has a contour interval of 80 feet and is on a scale of about one inch to the mile. Points near the west and edge of the map are Oak Glen, Igo in Mill Creek Canyon, Camp An gelus and Big Bear dam.

The eastern border cuts through desert watershed headwaters including Whitewater and Mission creeks. Wildwood canyon, east of Yucaipa. is near the south limit and the northern line cuts through Big Bear Lake. Simultaneously placed on sale is the Morongo Valley Quadrangle, adjoining San Gorgonio mountain to the east. The maps' are not on sale in Redlands.

They can be purchased from the Map Distribution Office, U.S. Geological Survey, Denver Federal Center Building 2i Denver, Colorado. Effective May 1 the standard price was raised to 30 cents. Maps are supplied with a green woodland overprint, unless plain ones are specifically requested. To avoid confusion between the old and the new maps, the correct designations should be used.

The new maps are: (1) San Gorgonio Mountain Quadrangle, California. 15 minute series (topographic) (2) Morongo Valley Quadrangle California, 15 minute series (topographic). Karl Robinson, a top platform personality on the lecture circuit, will narrate this story of the Dalmation Coast of Yugoslavia. This will-be an opportunity to see one of Europe's most strategic nations. Mr. Robinson's sparkling and documentary film shows this coastal area as one of the most beautiful regions of Europe.

There will be scenes of people from all six Yugoslav Republics. The film ranges from the northern Slovenian mountains to Lake Ohrid, in southern Macedonia. There will be scenes of cities, such as Ljubljana, Zagreb, Pula, Rijeka. Split, Korcula and ievo. The medieval city of Du brovnik' is filmed in detail.

Yucaipa Zoning Protest Session Set For Tonight A zoning hassle in Yucaipa valley continues this evening when Business Men's and Property Owners corporation stage an open meeting at 8 o'clock in the Yucaipa theater to oppose the recent Valley Planning committee recommendation to make the entire valley an agricultural zone. Terming this meeting a "citizens' protest" session, the corporation last week demanded immediate resignations of the six members of the planning committee who sent their recommendations to the county. The Business Men's and Property Owners organization received additional opposition strength from the Yucaipa and Calimesa Chambers of Commerce and the Yucaipa Valley Realty board. The Chambers and the Realty board last week passed resolutions to oppose the proposed I zoning measure and to urge further study of the zoning problem. The ruckus began last week an announcement by the planning committee that they had recommended to the county that they make the entire valley an agricultural zone save for the townsite.
