June 23 0-CIO United steelworkers made its bid today for a guaranteed annual wage-a move which if successful could set the pattern for the stecli and aluminum industries. The USW' presented this proposal and other issues in a two-hour bargaining session with the AlumCompany of America. A guaratced annual wage. A USW spokesman explained, the union wants the company to guarantee its 16.000 workers a minimum income a. year.

He didn't say how much. The spokesman said the guaralanteed annual wage issue was not 'brought up in the negotiations with industry because the contract limited bargaining to hourly wages.
