EAST BERLIN NEWS NOTES Clinton Nate and family, of Jet- fcnon. were Sunday fuests of their daughter, Mrs. R. C. Shaffer.

The Rev. Walter Keeney and family, of Gettysburg, were Sunday guests of their Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Keeney. Lane crowds attended the services and bore Feast held at the Latimore Church of the Brethren ever the week-end.

The annual Thank offering at the Holtzachwamm Reformed Congregation wltt be held Sunday evening, Nov. 21. A dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Harbold on Sunday.

Those present were: W. Butf Ansttne and family and Mr. and Mm L. M. Harbold.

Ham' and family, accompanied by his mother, returned to their home, near Kralltown, after a wetk-end visit with his brother at Canton, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Leppert. of Alumbank, were week-end guests of Mr and Mrs.

Ernest Hofman, near Red Run ehurch. Hofman and Mr Leppert were roommates at Shippensburg In then- college days. A son, Barry Leroy, was born to Mr. and Mrs Leroy Rinehart. who reside on the John E.

Corp. Tech. 5th Grade Gerald E. Krout. Camp Ellis, spent the week-end here on furlough with his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. C. D. Krout. On Sunday he was honored by his grandfather.

Peter Lau, who served a turkey dinner at his home at Seven Valleys. Miss Betty J. Lerew returned to her position in Washington, D. after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

The local Methodist church, founded In 1843 by Bishop Francis Asberg. will observe its 100th anniversary with a week of service, starting Sunday. The guest speaker Sunday at 10:30 a. m. will be the Rev.

Lewis G. Rohrbaugh, Dickinson college. Missionary Night will be observed Monday at 8 p. m. and speakers will be the Rev.

Blood Donor Activity Residents of Gettysburg, Aspers, Arendtsville, Biglervllle, Bonneau- viUe, East Berlin, Falrfleld, New Oxford, Cashtown, McKnlghtetown, Orrtanna and Barlow were praised for their part in the Red Cross blood donor campaign as the Her- rlsburg area service marked its first anniversary.

One of the major factors which enabled the area to meet its quota In the four million pints of blood requested by the Army and Navy for processing into dried plasma in 1943 was the "magnificent response of the people in the communities visited by the mobile blood donor units," Hugh K. Duffield, Chapter chairman, said Thursday.
