Algono (lo.) Upper DM Moinn Oct. 16, 1975 Mother Of Algonan Dies At Humboldt Mrs. W.J. Vonderhaar, Sr. of Humboldt, 89, mother of Mrs.

Joe Bradley, Sr. of Algona, died Sunday at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral service for Mrs. Vonderhaar was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St.

Mary's Catholic Church at Humboldt with Fr. Richard Macke Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. Burial was in the church cemetery, the Lindhart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Harold Ennis, Maurice Calahan, Andy Husske, Neil Ruse, Edward Mersch and Joe Ennis. Veronica, daughter of Joseph and Madalena Weishaar Kiener, was born at West Point.

la. on Feb. 8, 1886. She was educated at West Point where she was married to William John Vonderhaar on Oct. 28, 1908.

The couple moved to Humboldt in 1920 and he operated a hardware business there. Mr. Vonderhaar died in 1944. Mrs. Vonderhaar is survived by one son and four daughters; William, Humboldt; Paulette, Mrs.

Joseph Bradley, Algona; Charlotte, Mrs. Robert Schultz, Long Beach, Julia, Mrs. James Grethan, Carroll, la. and Constance, Mrs. Mark Brandsgard of Humboldt.

There are 18 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. N. Henderson Of LuVerne Dies At 81 Funeral services for Minnie Henderson of LuVerne, 81, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred C.

Rowley officiating. Burial was in the LuVerne Cemetery, the Blake Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Wayne Sanford, Bert Ramus, Alvin Weber, Bernard Wolf, Loyd Larson and Joe Thorn. Minnie, daughter of Thomas and Malinda Johnson Stenson, was born at Eagle Grove on June 20, 1894. She attended school at Goldfield and Eagle Grove and was married to Phil Henderson at LuVerne on Sept.

2, 1914. Mrs. Henderson died early morning at the Humboldt Care Center where she had resided since 1973. Her husband died in 1961. Mrs.

Don Huggans, Montclair. Calif, and Larry of LuVerne. There are 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters who survive are Jess Stenson, St. Cloud, Tillie, Mrs.

Henry Dobberstein, New Richland, Stephen Stenson, Minnesota Lakes, Sylvia Stenson, Minneapolis; Carroll Stenson, LeCenter, Minn, and Margaret, Mrs. Leonard Butler, Rye, New Hampshire. John Altaian Rites Held At St. Cecelia John B. Altman, 82 year old retired Algona area farmer, died early Sunday morning at the Good Samaritan Center in Algona.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Cecelia's Catholic Church with the Msgr. W.B. Bauer officiating.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, the Wilson Funeral Home of Algona in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were nephews; Daryl Baker, Richard Kohlhaas, William Elbert, Richard Mori, Charles Lorewald and John Elbert. Born in Humboldt County on Nov. 2, 1892, John B. Altman was a son of Nicholas and Barbara Erpelding Altman.

He attended school in St. Joe and farmed on the family farm until 1910. He was married to Eulalia Gales Sept. 21, 1929 at St. Joe and the couple purchased a farm near Irvington in 1941.

They farmed there until retiring in 1963. He is survived by his wife, Eulalia; five sons and one daughter; Eldon, Minneapolis; Merlyn, Algona; Robert, LuVerne; John, Tempe, Tom, Irvington and Dianna, Mrs. John Roeder, Algona. There are 26 grandchildren. Three sisters also survive; Mrs.

Susie Kohlhaas, Algona; Justine, Mrs. Joseph Melavin, Humboldt; Mary, Mrs. Cliff Baker, Livermore. Mr. Altman had hobbies of target shooting and bowling.

He was Nebraska State Trap Shoot champion in 1951. Funds allocated for each county from the appropriation may be used for the following purposes: 1. "To acquire or Improve physical facilities to house the center." 2. "To acquire recreational or educational equipment or supplies." The allocation of funds for each county was determined by the rules outlined In the code.

Cecelia's Church, the Izaak Walton League, National Rifle Association and the American Trap Shooting Association. lea Sprong Rites Held At Livermore Service For NAME OMITTED The name of one brother of Roy Crawford was omitted from the obituary of Mr. Crawford printed in Monday's Advance, Clifford Crawford of Whittemore. Funeral services for Roy Crawford were held in Fullerton, Calif, on Saturday, Oct. 11, with burial in Luma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton.

Funeral services for Mrs. lea Dean Sprong, formerly of Livermore. will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home at Livermore with Rev. Marion Blake, pastor of the Bethel Presbyterian Church of Livermore, officiating.

Burial is in Union Cemetery there with Wilson's in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are grandsons, Tom Sprong, Charles Braatz, Clyde Wilson, LeRoy Kline, William Petersen and Harold Denaary. lea Hollette, daughter of James and Celia Martin Hol- lette, was born July 20, 1885 in Huntington County, Indiana. She attended schools there and was married to Frank Sprong Dec. 24, 1904 at Huntington.

In 1911 the couple moved to the West Bend area where they farmed until moving to Livermore in 1936. Following the death of her husband in 1954, Mrs. Sprong continued to live in Livermore until 1972 when she moved to Oran, la. She resided there one year before moving to Cresco where she died Monday at the Reutlinger Nursing Home. She is survived by eight daughters and two sons: Ada, Mrs.

Walter Halstead of Oran; twins, Faye, Mrs. Archie Wilson, Webster City and Frances Murray, Cosmopolis, Rudy, Renton, Mrs. Etoilee Murray, Blackduck, Darline, Mrs. Elvin Weaver, Cresco; twins, Gerlad, Bronson, and Geraldine, Mrs. John Manning, St.

Louis, Naomi, Mrs. Roy Salmon, Livermore; and Mrs. Treva Thurman, Rock Hill, Mo. Mrs. Sprong has 54 grandchildren, 145 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great- grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, one son, Earl, and a daughter, Louise, 14 grandchildren, her parents, one sister and two brothers. Wm. Sengbusch Is Friday William F. Sengbusch, 84, a longtime Algona resident, died Monday at his home. He had been in ill health the past two years.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Sohn officiating, with the assistance of Rev. John W. Schenck and Rev.

W.H. Friedrich. Burial is in Riverview Cemetery, the Geilenfeld Schaaf McCuIlough Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Wendell Willrett, Ray Sewick, Paul Saxton, Michael Schrauth, Peter Jorgenson and Ben Wibben. Born Sept.

15, 1891 at Niles Center, 111., William was a son of Fred and Sophie Sengbusch. His family moved to Truman, Minn, where he attended school and Mr. Sengbusch came to Algona from there 40 years ago. He was married to Elfrieda Kilian April 15, 1966 in the Trinity Lutheran Church here. Mrs.

Sengbusch survives her husband, who was a retired laborer. Surviving besides his wife are three sons, George Sengbusch of Milaca, Donald, Cheyenne, and Richard, Houston, Tex. There are eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Esther Haugen of Butterfield, also survives.

Rep. Bedell Here Congressman Berkley Bedell will hold an open door meeting for public comment at the Courthouse assembly room here today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. Weekend Crashes In Algona Over The Weekend City police reported the following traffic accidents over the weekend involving property damage but no injuries or charges. On Oct. 11 at 10:60 a.m.

cars driven by Harold Andreasen, R.R., Hurt, and Judith Ann Rosenmeyer, R.R. 2, Corwith, collided on State Street hear the Dodge Street intersection, doing $150 damage to the Rosenmeyer car. There were two accidents about 1 p.m. Oct. 12.

Cars driven by Lawrence Studer of Wesley and Ada Hardgrove, Algona, each sustained about $100 damage in a collision at McGregor and Williams streets. A collision at Phillips and Elm streets resulted in $750 in damage to a car driven by Lora Seger, Algona, and $250 in damage to a car driven by Ella Zumach of Algona. Algona Firm In District Court Suit, $40,000 Capital Services, Kansas City, filed suit in District Court here Oct. 13 against Directory Service Algona, and Jerry Leaneagh, Burt, The plaintiff seeks $31,377.89 for equipment associated with typesetting, claiming the defendant breached a lease agreement for it by missing two months payments. They also seek $8,906.75 for attorneys fees and costs of the action.

Fire Department Puts Out Three Fires Sunday The Algona fire department answered three fire calls Sunday afternoon, putting out each blaze before anything other than dry grass burned. Firemen put out leaf fires at 309 East Kennedy and 217 East Elm early in the afternoon and one in a pasture at the west end of Nebraska Street later in the afternoon. The latter was reported by Mrs. Wendell Willrett and is believed to have been started when a tree was blown down, breaking a power line near the Herb Haas residence.
