14 Paris 12, 1978 Final examinations under way at PJC Final examinations are being held at Paris Junior College this week, and the fall semester will end officially at 4 p.m. Friday. Dec. 15, according to college officials. Campus offices will remain open until Thursday, Dec.

21. and re-open on Tuesday. Jan. 2. Pre-registration for the spring semester continues through Friday.

Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in counselors' offices in the Mike Rheudasil Learning Center. Spring registration will begin again on Jan.

8, when sophomores will register Jan. 8 and 9. Freshmen will enroll on Jan. 10 and 11. and spring classes will start on Jan.

15. PJC dormitories will close Friday. Dec. 15. and open at 1 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 7. Food services will close at 2 p.m. Friday and resume on Monday. Jan.

8. When the PJC faculty returns for the spring semester. Dr. Oscar Mink, associate project director of the University of Texas Kellogg Project, will conduct a workshop on Wednesday and Thursday. Jan.

3 and 4. The workshop will be on student development with on internal- external counseling strategies for faculty and staff. MIDLAND, Texas (AP) The Hearst Corp. has agreed to purchase the Midland Reporter-Telegram and the Plainview Daily Herald, it was announced Monday. Purchase prices have not been disclosed. Hearst executives John R. Miller and Frank A.

Bennack Jr. made the announcement jointly with Mrs. James N. Allison the majority owner of the Reporter-Telegram Publishing Co. and Allison Communications Inc.

Miller is president and chief executive officer of The Hearst Corp. Bennack. executive vice president, succeeds Miller in January. The Hearst executives said the Midland Reporter- Telegram has been one of the most sought-after newspaper properties in the nation since the death last August of its publisher, James N.Allison Jr. The newspaper circulates 21.000 daily and 23,000 Sunday.

It was published by James N. Allison Sr. from 1940 until his death in 1975. when he was succeeded by his son. The Plainview Daily Herald has a daily and Sunday circulation of 10.000.
