Tuesday, August 25,1981 The PharaTribuM. LofiMpart, Phils Skipper Goes Wild PHILADELPHIA (UPI), Dallas Green's volatile temper, which has erupted like Mount St. Helens on occasion since he became manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, may have finally gotten the best of htm. Green faces a possible fine and suspension from National League President Charles Feeney today after an incident Monday night in which he smashed into umpire Steve Fields and then knocked Fields' hat off with a wild swing and kicked it. Green and Larry wa were bottl ejected and Bowa, too, could face a fine and suspension for his part in the episode.

"Both Bowa and Green bumped him (Fields)." said umpire Nick Colosi, the crew chief who also may be in hot water for allegedly breaking a $40,000 hand-held camera belonging to local telecaster Mike Forrest during a post- game interview. If Green is suspended, he will be the second manager to suffer that fate this season for jostling an umpire. Billy Martin of the Oakland A's was suspended by American League President Lee MacPhail for one week and fined $1,000 for an on-the-field bumping of Terry Cooney on May 29. Monday night's incident oc- cured in the nintlj inning of a game with Atlanta and was triggered by a call at second base made by Fields against Bowa. Fields claimed Bowa did not touch second base while completing a double-play and pinch runner Eddie Miller scored to UPI Phillies manager Dallas Green (left) knocks the cap off umpire Steve Fields during a heated dispute in the ninth inning of last night's game.
