Lawmen arrest three suspects in armed robbery of bait camp ByJIMGOLDING News Staff Writer TEXAS CITY Three suspects were arrested Sunday after robbing a bait and tackle shop on the city dike at gunpoint about 4:45 a.m., police reported. By mid-afternoon, officers had apprehended Mary Marie Mason, 23, Charles Thorn 22, and Jerry Griffin, 32. All three reside in Texas City, police said. One of the suspects was armed with a pistol in the robbery of Rilat's Bait and Tackle, investigators reported. The suspects allegedly took about $80 from a cash register, records indicated.

Lawmen were holding them in Texas City Jail Sunday pending transfer to Galveston County Jail today. Bond on each was set at $20,000. BOAT CAPSIZES ONE MISSING GALVESTON One man was missing late Sunday after a 16-foot pleasure boat carrying five persons capsized in Galveston Bay near the Houston Lighting Power spillway, a Coast Guard spokesman said. Coast Guard rescue crews and Gaiveston County Sheriff's Marine Division deputies fished four persons safely out of the water about 3:15 p.m. The missing 22-year-old man was not identified.

Autopsy confirms cyanide poisoning killed children STEPHENV1LLE, Texas (AP) An autopsy report confirmed Sunday that cyanide killed an 8-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy whose father has been charged In the deaths. Delbert Black, 33, is accused of forcing his children to drink a mixture of cyanide, sugar and syrup in his mobile home in rural Erath County, between Stephenville and Hico.

Amy Annette Black and Richard Loyd Black were dead on arrival Friday at Hico City Hospital, where they were taken by two men who said Black told them he thought they were poisoned. Later Friday, officers went to Black's mobile home and found a can of cyanide-based ant poison and "a bottle of syrup, a jar of sugar and a large glass with it al! mixed together," said Erath County sheriff's deputy Randy Merriman. Warrants for Black's arrest were issued shortly before midnight Friday, and Black was arrested without incident Saturday after a 24-hour search with bloodhounds and horses.
