Sara Richards, mother of Matthew, a sixth grade student, purchased the quilt for $1,700 and donated it back to the school. OLQP registration under way Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Elementary School is accepting registration from the public for students in PK3 and PK4, and kindergarten through sixth grade. Kindergarten is a full- day program. A strong academic program is offered that results in high test scores. Matt joins college newspaper staff Karen Turner Matt, a senior secondary education major at Midwestern State University, has joined the newspaper staff. She is employed as a reporter for The Wichitan. Matt is to become a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the national honorary English fraternity. Membership is limited to those majors and minors in English who have distinguished themselves in the discipline and who show interest and ability in literature and writing. The annual banquet for faculty and students will be held at the Sheraton Hotel ballroom in Wichita Falls.

Membership will include a pin, and a subscription to The Rectangle, a journal featuring student writing essays, stories, poems and members are eligible to submit their own work there. Matt is the daughter of Thomas N. and Deb Turner of Lake Jackson. She is a graduate of Brazoswood High School. Booster club seeking members The West of the Brazos Special Athlete Booster Club welcomes all members of the community to join their membership.

The goal of the Booster Club is to raise funds for the Columbia-Brazoria ISO Special Athletes, promote awareness of Special Olympics in our community and provide recognition for the athletes, coaches, volunteers and sponsors. Palmer, a freshman attending Texas University was recently inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, a National Freshman Honor Society. One of the requirements is at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Palmer is majoring in chemical engineering with hopes of medical school. Palmer is a 1996 graduate of Angleton High School.
