Grahl has announced. Expressing appreciation for the help given by various organizations and individuals at the first registration on Oct. IS, 1940, Grahl said that since the new registration would be much smaller, local board members and clerks would be able to' handle the task'by themselves.

Estimates by the Bureau of Census in Washington, D. indicate that there will be 15.596 men registered in Iowa on July 1. It is estimated that approximately 200 will register in Muscatine county. All young men'who have become 21 years of age since Oct. 16, 1940, are required to ister for military training on that date.

Registration hours will be between 7 a. m. and 9 p. m. Further details regarding the local registration will be announced soon.

"They are against the constitution of the United States. Their policy is to overthrow the government. They are responsible for many of tho strikes in our defense industries." An effort was made in mid-1940 to keep the party off the Iowa ballot last fall. A state ballot tribunal, however, ruled that the group was entitled to a place on the ballot under the law. Communist candidates polled only few hundred voles in Iowa in the 1940 election.
